It’s not a big secret that some type of Buffalo flavored item will be on our dinner menu a few times a month. I have to keep Franks Hot Sauce stocked in the house at all times, if we ran out…well let’s not talk about it.
One delightful evening while having a shredded BBQ Beer Sandwich (which I had made using the Crockpot) Mr. Secrets jokingly said, “needs buffalo sauce”. He says that a lot. He’s quite the comedian, but in truth he would put it on almost anything. I thought to myself if I replace the BBQ with Buffalo it would be amazing! Ding! In truth, I may be the one who cooks, but he really gives my cooking the direction. One quick search on Pinterest and there were tons of results. I took my BBQ recipe and switched it around a bit and the Buffalo recipe was born!
First we put the shredded Buffalo Chicken on sandwiches with melted pepperjack. The next time we tried it in flour tortillas with a little avocado, lettuce, mozzarella cheese and ranch for the best Buffalo Chicken Tacos! You can even use this chicken to make a Buffalo Chicken Pizza. I bet it would even be delicious on a baked potato. Seriously, I could go on all day. This chicken is really good with the Better than Restaurant Ranch, give it a try!
Plug in your crockpot, put it on low heat. Put in all your ingredients. Cover for 6 hours. That’s it, it’s pretty simple. Here is a before shot:
When your six hours is up, I take a fork and shred the chicken up in the crockpot. It literally just falls apart. It should look like this. I usually leave it in another 15 minutes or so, just to really soak up that buffalo goodness!
This recipe is easy. I have even left it for 8 hours once, it was perfectly fine. So enjoy! Here is our sandwhich.
Shredded Crockpot Buffalo Ranch Chicken:
Serves about 3-4
2 Large Chicken Breasts (I use fresh, but frozen would work too)
1/2 cup Franks Hot Sauce
1/2 cup Beer (your choice and you can drink the leftovers…I’ve used chicken broth when I drank all the leftovers.)
1 Tbsp Butter
1/2 tsp Parsley
1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
1/2 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp crushed garlic
Dash of Pepper
Crockpot on Low for 6 hours
